The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is a not for profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia.
We work with governments, businesses and other organisations from across Australia’s large and complex packaging value chain to develop the insights, resources and programs that are needed to build a sustainable national packaging ecosystem.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience and Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word software
- Knowledge of business administration
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data
- Can do attitude and team member
- An understanding of sustainability opportunities
- Ability to look at situations from several points of view, and to communicate effectively across different organisational levels
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both as an active team member and independently
- At least 3 years’ experience in a sustainability focussed role or organisation
- Experience in supporting members or customers, including delivery of training programmes, workshops and event management
- Tertiary degree in environment, sustainability or management
about the program
The Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program is an on-pack labelling scheme that is helping consumers to recycle correctly and supporting Brand Owners and packaging manufacturers to design packaging that is recyclable at end-of-life.
The Program features two key elements:
- The Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal (PREP) – an online tool that assesses packaging recyclability in the Australian and New Zealand kerbside or approved drop-off recycling systems.
- The Australasian Recycling Label – an on-pack label that provides clear and simple instructions about how to recycle all of the separable packaging components.
