For an essential daily consumer items, plastic bottles are a great delivery method and for most consumers they’re no more than a handy tool to pour your favourite product from. For the Packaging Technologist, it is a very different story, they are and engineering component critical to the performance of their filling line.
Thinking of plastic bottles as engineering components, no different to capping heads for example, is the mindset needed to get the best from your equipment. Consistent plastic bottle performance creates predictability and is one of only a few keys to process improvement in filing, labelling and capping line speeds.
