Q1: Why did you join the AIP?
With the industry focus on sustainability and 2025 packaging targets it is time all businesses work together to share knowledge, challenge our businesses and develop sustainable packaging solutions as an industry. It will require an industry working together on all levels of policy making, Federal and Local Government, Brand owners, manufacturers and stakeholders to deliver solutions. The AIP provides a network of industry professionals, training courses that can benefit myself and my team.
Q2: How long have you been in the industry and what are your areas of expertise?
I have been working in the industry for 25 years. During that time I have worked across a range of areas within the packaging industry from packaging design studios, to manufacturing organisations as well as off-shore sourcing of luxury packaging. My expertise and passion has always been working with clients, creative designers and production teams to deliver great product to brand owners and consumers. For most of my career I have worked in campaign based, promotional packaging more recently in the luxury packaging sector. The complexities of the supply chain always keep it challenging, exciting and pushes you to come up with new ideas and solutions.
Q3: What is your current role and what are your responsibilities?
I am the General Manager, MaCher (Aust) Pty Ltd. As General Manager I lead a team of experts in sales, design, project management, production and sourcing for luxury and promotional packaging. I am responsible for developing and implementing the business strategy, driving growth and providing leadership and mentoring to the team.
