The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) is pleased to announce that in the latest round of WorldStar Packaging Awards, Australian & New Zealand companies received the second highest amount of wins in the world behind Japan. This is the second year in a row that the region has dominated the global awards program, which is a true reflection of the innovative packaging designs being developed in the Southern Hemisphere.

The 2023 WorldStar Packaging Awards attracted a record-breaking 488 entries from 41 countries with 45 judges from across the globe determining 228 winners for the 2023 round.

ANZ PIDA Award winners have been internationally recognised with 19x awards across 9x categories in the prestigious global packaging awards program which is run by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). Caps & Closures have been recognised with 4x WorldStar awards for 3x separate products and BioPak 2x awards for 2x separate products. Result Group and JBS have both been awarded their first ever WorldStar awards.

The 9x categories where ANZ designs were recognised include Food, Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, Beverages, Household, Transit, Medical & Pharmaceutical, Health & Personal Care, Labelling & Decoration and Other.

The WorldStar Special Awards which includes Sustainable Packaging Design, Accessible Design, Packaging that Saves Food and Marketing will not be announced until the 2023 WorldStar Awards ceremony which will be held on the 6th of May 2023 during Interpack which will be held in Germany.
