The CPP program has been accepted as the global recognition as a packaging professional and therefore the CPP designation has now become the leading mark of excellence internationally and a must-have recognition of industry proficiency and achievement for packaging professionals.
1. How long have you been in the industry? What are your areas of expertise?
David:
I have been in the Industry for more than 15 years and my experience ranges through packaging materials science, including extensive experience in Plastics and Paper/paper board, had worked in manufacturing facilities for processing and packaging assembling in Asia Pacific and North and South America. My experience also covers the recycling part of materials and packaging as well as a wealth of experience in compostable and Biodegradable packaging and materials.
2. What made you apply for the Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) Designation?
David:
The Certified Packaging Professional program is a worldwide recognised certification which allows you to gauge your knowledge and obtain an additional recognition for the continued training and achievements in the packaging industry.
3. How important is attaining the CPP designation to you as an individual?
David:
It was a personal and professional goal, and it represents a new milestone in my career as a Packaging Professional.
4. How important is the CPP designation for the greater recognition of people in the packaging industry?
David:
The CPP designation is a commitment of excellence that comes with a greater responsibility in terms of the quality of the activities you perform in the industry and the value you provide inside and outside your organisation.
It represents an additional professional motivation to stay connected with the industry leaders that comes with the responsibility to indirectly represent also the AIP and IOPP in the public forum.
5. Were there any new learnings or takeaways that you gained from the experience?
David:
It is quite common in the industry that your level of expertise varies between materials and technologies, the CPP program motivates you to broaden your knowledge in different aspects of the packaging industry and different technologies and aim to level up your knowledge.
6. What next for your career?
David:
The next step in my career is to continue working on learning from industry experts and sharing my knowledge and skills with the younger generations of Packaging Professionals, as well as continue contributing to sustainable packaging solutions for years to come.
