The inaugural AIP President’s Scholarship which has been designed to work in collaboration with the ABA program is to help one additional person undertake either a Certificate in Packaging or a Diploma in Packaging Technology each year.
2021 AIP President’s Scholarship winner is Libby Treves AAIP, Packaging Technologist, Frucor Suntory, New Zealand.
Starting with a Bachelor Science majoring in Neuroscience Libby has worked her way through Quality Assurance roles into the packaging team at Frucor Suntory. Libby wants to develop her packaging sustainability knowledge and amplify the voice of the consumer in her business to encourage environmental improvements in the packaging industry. She would also like to push companies to look at the role of marketing and education in sustainability initiatives.
In 5 years, Libby would like to be known as someone who has a deep understanding of all key elements of packaging technology and is relied upon in the industry as someone with a wealth of knowledge. She believes that a strong technical grounding through the Diploma in Packaging Technology will allow her to advocate for the industry as a whole and teach others about packaging technology to inspire positive changes going forward in the industry.
Libby has been selected as the inaugural winner of the AIP President’s Scholarship because she is passionate, hard-working and has a thirst for more knowledge.
