The AIP participated in two key industry events alongside of Waste Expo and the ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo in late October in Melbourne. The first event was a seminar for over 60 people that helped attendees understand the importance of Sustainable Development Goals to their business; including the journey to sustainable packaging and processing and the 2025 National Packaging Targets. Expert speakers included Kurt Palmer, Director, Australian Industrial Ecology Network AIEN, Keith Chessell FAIP, Board Member AIP, APCO, Christopher Dean, Chief Executive Officer, Choice Energy, Michael Vandertop, Managing Director, Rhima Australia and Simon van Leuven AAIP, Managing Director, Vanden Recycling.
The second event was a packaging site visit tour day to see three AIP Member sites, in collaboration with APCO, AFGC and VWMA. The three sites attendees visited were 1. Melbourne Markets in conjunction with Vanden Recycling, Replas and Ego Pharmaceuticals.
